Project purpose

The main project objective is to define problematic parts of the implementation of the city logistic systems in the Czech Republic.
Partial project objectives are:

Development of a national methodology for technical specifications of urban consolidation centres (UCC).
Support of sustainable transport by using a multimodal and intermodal transport solution in city logistics.
Specification of requirements for all stakeholders involved in the case of an urban consolidation centre.
Definition and analyses of the technological processes, which are necessary for effective consolidation centre operation and delivery of goods.
Economic assessment and financial models of urban consolidation centres.
Recommendation for legislation changes and modifications of technical standards which are necessary for the consolidation centres implementation.

The list above shows, that the project does not only solve the technical aspect of city logistics, but also aims at the organisational, operational and legislative processes with the possibility of implementation of the first pilot project in a particular city in the Czech Republic.


Project objectives

The main project objective is to analyse the conditions for implementation of a city logistic systems in the Czech Republic.

Project results: Project results will be presented in three ways:

On a theoretical level: Available city logistics systems will be presented and described. Legislative and organisational conditions in the Czech Republic will be taken into account as well as the differences between cities and their economical situation.
On a practical level: Information and data from all stakeholders involved will be gathered. The best practice solution for urban consolidation centres will be further disseminated. Optimisation of the strong and weak processes in an urban consolidation centre will be proposed.
A feasibility study of a pilot project will be prepared in one particular city in the Czech Republic with respect to available information. An assessment of the city logistic systems will be carried out.

All recommendations will be discussed with all parties and stakeholders involved.
